1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using MentorCrux ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. These terms comply with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, and other applicable Indian laws. If you do not agree, you must not use this platform.

2. Platform Description

MentorCrux is an online platform that connects engineering students and professionals with experienced mentors in core engineering fields, including Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical engineering.

  • MentorCrux acts as an intermediary and does not guarantee employment, academic success, or specific outcomes.
  • Mentorship sessions are intended for guidance purposes only and do not constitute professional, legal, or academic advice.

2A. Interview Support Services

MentorCrux also offers Interview Support Services, which include:

  • Resume Review Service – where users can upload their resume, share a job description, and select a single mentor to receive detailed feedback and improvement suggestions.
  • Mock Interview Service – where users can submit a job description, choose a mentor, and schedule a session based on mentor availability.

Important: MentorCrux acts solely as an intermediary for these services. All feedback, comments, guidance, and interview performance insights provided by mentors are based on their personal experience and professional judgement. MentorCrux does not guarantee job placement, interview selection, shortlisting, or any specific career outcome.

3. User Eligibility

  • Users must be at least 18 years of age or have valid parental consent.
  • Users must be residents of India or provide valid documentation for identity verification.
  • Mentors must provide valid professional credentials and proof of experience.
  • All users must provide accurate and truthful information during registration.

4. User Responsibilities

For Mentees:

  • Attend scheduled sessions on time.
  • Respect the mentor's time and expertise.
  • Pay applicable fees as per agreed terms.
  • Maintain professionalism and decorum during interactions.

For Mentors:

  • Provide accurate professional details and credentials.
  • Deliver quality mentorship and adhere to ethical standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of mentee information.
  • Abstain from solicitation, harassment, or inappropriate conduct.
  • Mentors are independent contractors and not employees of MentorCrux.

For Mentees (Interview Support):

  • Provide accurate job descriptions and resume information.
  • Ensure uploaded documents do not contain confidential employer information.
  • Book sessions only according to mentor's available time slots.
  • Make full payment before the service begins.

For Mentors (Interview Support):

  • Provide constructive, actionable resume feedback when assigned.
  • Conduct mock interviews professionally, ethically, and without bias.
  • Maintain confidentiality of mentee documents.
  • Refrain from guaranteeing job outcomes.

5. Code of Conduct

All users must maintain a respectful, professional environment. Prohibited activities include but are not limited to:

  • Harassment, abusive language, or inappropriate behavior.
  • Misrepresentation of qualifications or identity.
  • Soliciting or offering employment outside platform guidelines.

Violation of this clause may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

6. Payment and Refunds

  • All payments are processed through secure, RBI-approved payment gateways.
  • GST and applicable taxes will be levied as per Indian tax laws.
  • Refunds will be issued only as per our Refund & Cancellation Policy, available on the platform.
  • MentorCrux may deduct TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) as required by law.

6A. Payments for Interview Support Services

  • Resume Review is charged at a fixed platform price as displayed on the service page.
  • Mock Interview pricing varies depending on the mentor selected.
  • Users must complete payment before MentorCrux assigns the request to mentors.
  • MentorCrux retains the right to adjust pricing without prior notice.

6B. Refunds for Interview Support Services

Resume Review:

  • Refunds are not applicable once the mentor has started reviewing the resume.

Mock Interview:

  • Refunds follow the platform's standard Cancellation & Refund Policy.
  • If the mentor is unavailable or the session cannot be arranged, MentorCrux will offer either rescheduling or a refund as per policy.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, resources, and materials shared on the platform remain the property of their respective owners. Users grant MentorCrux a limited, non-exclusive license to use shared content solely for platform operations.

8. Data Protection & Privacy

We protect user data in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and related laws. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on data collection, use, and security.

9. Limitation of Liability

MentorCrux provides the platform "as-is" and makes no guarantees of outcomes.

Our liability is strictly limited to the platform fee paid by the user.

MentorCrux shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, career setbacks, or missed opportunities.

Interview Support Disclaimer

For Interview Support Services, MentorCrux is not responsible for:

  • Job placement or interview shortlisting outcomes
  • Decisions made by external employers or recruitment teams
  • The accuracy or impact of feedback provided by mentors
  • Any loss, stress, or missed opportunities arising from reliance on resume suggestions or mock interview feedback

MentorCrux's liability remains strictly limited to the platform fee paid.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MentorCrux, its founders, employees, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses arising from:

  • Your breach of these terms,
  • Your interactions with other users,
  • Any advice or actions taken based on mentorship sessions.

11. Termination

MentorCrux reserves the right to suspend or terminate any user account, without notice, for:

  • Violation of these Terms of Service,
  • Fraudulent or abusive activity, or
  • Actions deemed harmful to the platform or its users.

12. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably through our support team. Failing which, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Bangalore, Karnataka, India and governed by Indian law.

13. Force Majeure

MentorCrux shall not be held liable for any delay or failure in performance due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, server downtime, legal restrictions, or internet outages.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the Indian Contract Act, 1872, the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and all other applicable Indian laws.
